Amid Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) versus Kolkata Police row, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday launched a protest against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the centre.

Along with the several oppositions, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray also backed the West Bengal CM over this issue. Thackeray issued a letter and said that he stands with Mamata Banerjee in these circumstances.

Our country is a federal state and the central government has no right to infringe on the rights of the state governments. The Bjp government should not forget this fact. We applaud and support the stand taken by Mamata Banerjee against the autocracy and tranny of the central government,” the letter issued by Raj Thackeray read.

The MNS chief further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier resorted to various measures in order to “bring about checks and restrictions” on CBI.

After CBI tried to investigate Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar in connection with the Saradha Chit fund scam, Kolkata Police temporarily detained the CBI officials. This sparked a huge row between the central and the state government.

I am assured that I am ready to die but I am not ready to bow down before Modi government. We won’t let the emergency be imposed. Please save India, save Democracy, save the constitution,” Mamata Banerjee asserted while saying that she will continue her “Satyagraha” to save the country.
