Amid the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi created a huge row after labelling former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as “corrupt”. The remarks made by PM Modi invited a huge amount of criticism from the opposition.

While Congress moved to Election Commission (EC) demanding action against PM Modi, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray said that the country will not forgive Modi for his remarks.

In a tweet, Raj Thackeray said, “hatred, endless lying and absolutely no qualms in transgressing the decorum of public life are the three characteristics that mark the term of Narendra Modi.”

Reacting to the remarks made by PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi said, “Modi Ji, The battle is over. Your Karma awaits you. Projecting your inner beliefs about yourself onto my father won’t protect you. All my love and a huge hug.”

In his rallies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known to lash out at Congress and former Prime Minister from the party. Earlier, while addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti, Modi launched an attack on Congress President Rahul Gandhi saying that his father’s (Rajiv Gandhi) life ended as “Bhrashtachari No 1 (Corrupt No 1)”.
