Mumbai- City policians turned out in huge numbers at the polling booths to cast their votes in the BMC election.
Shiv Sena's Rahul Shewale was one of the first politicians in the city to cast their vote. Shewale and his wife cast their votes in Mankhurd this morning.
The Bharatiya Janata Party's Vinod Tawde cast his vote at Vile Parle's Sathaye College, while the BJP's Kirit Somaiya and son Neil Somaiya cast their votes in Mulund's ward 105. The Nationalist Congress Party's Supriya Sule was accompanied by her daughter Revati and father Sharad Pawar as she cast her vote in ward 214. Interestingly, this ward does not have a single NCP candidate contesting the BMC election. Speculation was rife among obseervers - who would the Pawars vote for ?
Among the other political heavyweights who cast their vote in the first two hours of voting were Ashish Shelar, Manohar Joshi, Raj Thackeray and Madhu Chavan.
