The spokesperson and leader of BJP has been nominated from Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) party from Mumbai. He formally joined the Shinde faction before being nominated. But his candidature is now facing opposition from BJP itself. BJP corporator and senior leader Atul Shah has raised the flag of rebellion and will file as an independent.

Atul Shah said that after working in a constituency for five years, a ticket is given to someone else. Is this a game of musical chairs? Is it right to impose a constituency on anyone? When the party did not have any presence in the Mumbadevi constituency, he was working. He was elected as a councillor. He handled the vaccination centre during COVID-19 where 50 thousand people were vaccinated. For the Ladki Bahin Yojana, he pitched a tent and filled 12,000 applications, out of which 8,000 applications were qualified.

“I worked for the party 24 hours a day while giving my sweat and blood. Even after that, if my candidature is rejected, it will hurt. The leadership has made a mistake, they should correct their mistake”, said Shah.

Shaina NC posted on X after joining the Shinde group. She said, I am deeply grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The leadership of the Mahayuti has given me the opportunity to serve the people of Mumba Devi by giving me the responsibility of the Legislative Assembly.
