People from the Muslim community protested outside Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's 'Matoshree' residence in Bandra on Saturday over Shiv Sena MPs walking out of the House without opposing the 'Waqf' (Amendment) Bill presented in the Lok Sabha for approval on Thursday. Another group of Muslims chased away the protesters, accusing them of being BJP party workers. Due to the two groups of Muslims coming face to face, there was tension in the Kalanagar colony for some time.
There were 15 to 20 people who protested. They told the media that they are not affiliated to any political party but a common Muslim. Muslim community gave unanimous votes to Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena in the Lok Sabha elections.

Three MPs of Thackeray have been elected in Mumbai on the strength of Muslim votes. But when the 'Waqf' Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha, Thackeray's MPs did not oppose the bill unlike the 'INDIA Alliance MPs. The Muslim protestors alleged that they should have raised their voices but they chose to turn a blind eye.
