Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Bacchu Kadu tests positive for coronavirus

On Saturday, September 19, Bacchu Kadu took to social media to share the information about his health, and also asked the people to get tested incase they had met him over the last few days.

Coronavirus cases are increasing and spreading rapidly in the city of Mumbai, and as per recent reports, another minister in the Mahavikas Aghadi government has tested positive for coronavirus. 

On Saturday, September 19, 2020, Minister of State for Water Resources and Education, Bacchu Kadu took to social media to share the information about his health. He stated that is coronavirus test report came positive on Saturday and asked everyone who had come in contact with him to get themselves tested. Upon knowing this information, Maharashtra state's Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray shared his message on social media, advised him to take care.

Earlier, state Energy Minister Nitin Raut and Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif also tested corona positive, and the news regarding their reports were released on Friday, September 18, 2020. They also asked the contacted people to get tested as a precaution. Both Raut and Mushrif are said to be in good health.

Besides them, many other ministers from the MVA government were infected with COVID-19. They recovered from the infection and successfully resumed work thereafter. Among the list of ministers, are Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad, Public Works Minister Ashok Chavan, Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde, Fisheries and Ports Minister Aslam Sheikh, Minister of State for Environment Sanjay Bansode, Minister of State for Revenue Abdul Sattar, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sunil Kedar, Co-operation Minister Balasaheb Patil, High and Minister of State for Technical Education Prajakta Tanpure. Records state that more than 30 assembly and legislative council members have tested positive for COVID-19.

As of September 20, 2020, Maharashtra had a total of 12 million coronavirus cases, with more than 32,000 deaths.
