A Maharashtra government official named Manoj Lakhe on Wednesday ordered a vegetarian ‘Thali’ at Vidhan Sabha canteen in Mumbai and reportedly found pieces of chicken in the same. Furious, Lakhe filed a complaint regarding this to Vidhan Sabha secretary Jitendra Bhole and demanded strong action to be taken against the culprit.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar on Thursday raised this issue during the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly’s proceeding saying that people who play with other’s health and feelings should be sentenced for life or else they won’t learn.

Moreover, Pawar also asked the ruling government as to what action will they take against the person responsible for the same.

Government Officials along with employees who work 12 hours a day find pieces of chicken in their vegetarian food. This is an insult to their feelings and belief. As this happens, people are unsure about their eating spaces. In Mahabaleshwar and Lonavala, 80 per cent ice used at juice centres is polluted. This is playing with people’s lives,” said NCP leader Ajit Pawar.
