After the chaos in Maharashtra Assembly, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Jitendra Awhad on Tuesday wrote to Maharashtra Assembly speaker Haribhau Bagde for allowing the whip to be taken to the constituency.

The house was adjourned till Wednesday, after the opposition created a ruckus over the reservation issue. According to the rules, if the whip is removed from its place, the session shall be adjourned immediately.

However, this did not happen and Awhad expressed his dissatisfaction against the speaker regarding the same saying, “if there is no importance of the whip, what is the use of keeping the same? People are excited about the whip, so allow the same to be presented before the people".

Earlier in the day, the agitated legislators removed the whip and tore the documents towards the speaker over the heated debate regarding the reservation issue for the Muslim community. According to the custom, if the opposition removes the whip without the permission of the speaker, the session shall be adjourned.
