Sangharsha Yatra: NCP's Outreach Journey Begins

On the same day, another significant development is set to take place as NCP MLA Rohit Pawar embarks on the 'Sangharsha Yatra.' This journey, spanning approximately 850 kilometers, will kick off in Pune and culminate in Nagpur. Taking inspiration from the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' initiated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, this endeavor aims to establish a deeper connection with the youth of Maharashtra, providing them with a platform to engage in political discourse and awareness.

Prashant Jagtap, the NCP city unit president, stated that prior to the commencement of the Sangharsha Yatra, NCP leader Sharad Pawar would address a public gathering at Balgandharva auditorium. In recent developments, Ajit Pawar, a prominent rebel leader within the NCP, organized an attention-grabbing road show in Pune city. EC Hearing on NCP Factional Dispute

Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) convened a hearing on Monday to address the conflicting claims made by the Ajit Pawar-led faction of the NCP regarding the party's name and election symbol. Simultaneously, the Sharad Pawar-led group argued that discrepancies were identified in the documents submitted by their rivals, adding a layer of complexity to the dispute. The EC has set November 9 as the date for the next hearing in the ongoing dispute over the NCP's name and election symbol. Additionally, the Sharad Pawar camp has been directed to submit its response to the claims made by the Ajit Pawar faction no later than October 30.

Allegations of Discrepancies

Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the counsel representing the Sharad Pawar faction, made a noteworthy claim, stating that the EC had identified discrepancies in the more than 9,000 documents submitted by the Ajit Pawar group to support their claim over the NCP's name and poll symbol. Meanwhie, Ajit Pawar who initiated the process by staking his claim to the party's name and poll symbol with the EC, asserted that he had the support of 42 out of 53 NCP MLAs in Maharashtra, six out of nine MLCs, all seven MLAs in Nagaland, and one member each in the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha. This assertion underscores the intensity of the internal dispute within the NCP.
