On Monday, July 19, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced that he will not celebrate his birthday amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Pawar’s birthday is on Thursday, July 22.

Pawar has urged his party workers and well-wishers to restrain from organising any public event in order to avoid huge crowds. He also urged the citizens and his colleagues to not come and visit him in his office or send bouquets as the impending third wave of COVID-19 hangs above us.

The Deputy CM further appealed to everyone to collectively follow COVID-19 protocols and contribute to the fight against the virus. Moreover, he asked everyone to wish him through calls or on social media.

Instead of organising events on my birthday, donate the funds to Chief Minister's Assistance Fund for the fight against COVID-19, Pawar mentioned.

Moreover, the Deputy Chief Minister has appealed to the people to organize public utility programs like blood donation camps in compliance with the COVID-related norms in collaboration with the recognized bodies.
