After five days of senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Chhagan Bhujbal getting bail, his son, NCP leader Pankaj Bhujbal on Thursday met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.

Pankaj Bhujbal met Uddhav Thackeray at his residence - ‘Matoshree’ - in Bandra. In this meeting, the Shiv Sena chief’s associate Milind Narvekar was present as well.

Both the leaders had a discussion for about 15 minutes. A Shiv Sena legislator informed the media that the discussion between Pankaj Bhujbal and Shiv Sena supremo was not related to politics but a courtesy visit.

After Chhagan Bhujbal left Shiv Sena in 1991 and joined NCP, the relationship between Shiv Sena and Bhujbal family remained tensed. However, during the illness of Balasaheb Thackeray, the relations of both the families improved.

Recently, the Shiv Sena mouthpiece also mentioned Chhagan Bhujbal claiming that his arrest in the money laundering case was “fate’s revenge” for putting Bal Thackeray behind bars. However, there are several political speculations after Pankaj Bhujbal’s meeting with Uddhav Thackeray.

Ahead of Maharashtra elections, will Bhujbal stay with NCP or join another party? Time will clear these doubts.
