32-days after being sworn in as the CM, Uddhav Thackeray expanded his cabinet on 30th December. However, on that day also the portfolios were not announced. Ajit Pawar announced today that all ministers will be handed in their portfolios today.

Ajit Pawar has taken over as the Deputy CM of the state and he said on Wednesday that portfolios for all 43 cabinet members in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government and guardian ministers of all districts will be declared on Thursday. “It’s the prerogative of the chief minister. We had a marathon meeting on allotment of portfolios and appointment of guardian ministers. A consensus was reached on sharing of portfolios and guardian ministers’ posts,” Pawar said.

He even went on to add that the NCP's list has been given a go-ahead by Sharad Pawar, while Thorat has approved the list by Congress so they are all set to announce. It is being touted that Pawar might get finance, while Uddhav's son Thackeray who has been inducted in the cabinet for the first time, may land up with education and environment.

Ever since the cabinet expansion has been announced, there are reports of people being unhappy and also about rifts in the party. According to Saamna, (which is Shiv Sena's mouthpiece), there is discontent in party workers of Shiv Sena. The article states that the "Original Shiv Sainkis" have not been included in.

There are also news reports of similar discontent brewing in team Congress. Senior leaders of INC from Maharashtra had gone to meet the top leaders in Delhi on Tuesday, which was just a day after the names of ministers were announced.
