Rahul Gandhi, a prominent leader in the Indian Congress party, is gearing up to bring his 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' into Maharashtra, marking a significant development in the political landscape. Scheduled to commence around March 15th, this yatra is expected to cover approximately 479 kilometers, traversing six districts before culminating in a grand event in Mumbai on March 20th. While the exact route is still awaiting finalization, inside sources have provided some insights into this high-profile journey.

Yatra's Route and Objectives

Insiders reveal that the yatra will kick off from Maharashtra's Nandurbar district, which shares its border with Gujarat. Originating from Mandvi in Gujarat's Kutch district, the yatra will traverse through various districts including Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nashik, and Thane before reaching the bustling metropolis of Mumbai. The yatra's primary objective is to highlight critical issues such as unemployment, inflation, and social justice. Maharashtra Congress Chief, Nana Patole, emphasized that Rahul Gandhi intends to raise his voice against divisive tactics employed by the BJP.

Culmination Event and Venue Selection

The concluding event of the 66-day 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Mumbai is anticipated to be a grand affair. Potential venues under consideration include historic locations like Azad Maidan or Shivaji Park. However, the final selection of the venue will be contingent on the yatra's finalized details, which are expected to be revealed in the coming days. A senior Congress leader, wishing to remain anonymous, provided this information.

Hybrid Mode of Transportation and Political Significance

Unlike the previous 'Bharat Jodo Yatra,' during which Rahul Gandhi personally covered 382 kilometers in 14 days across five districts, this yatra will employ a hybrid mode of transportation. Buses will predominantly be used for the journey due to time constraints caused by the imminent general election. As a result, the yatra will spend only five days within the state while covering six districts. Party leaders see this yatra as a significant boost for the Maharashtra unit in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which are expected to be announced in the coming months. Additionally, the party has planned region-specific meetings, leader training programs, and a two-day state-level conclave in the weeks ahead to revitalize the organization in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections. This decision was reached during an extended executive committee meeting of the state unit held at Tilak Bhavan on Thursday.
