Amid the political uncertainty in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that they have lost a friend and ally in Shiv Sena.

While talking to the media, Sanjay Raut reiterated that Shiv Sena will form a stable government in Maharashtra and the confusion is only in the mind of media.

Shiv Sena’s fallout from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) made it clear that the tussle between BJP and Shiv Sena over power-sharing in Maharashtra is not going to get resolved.

Earlier, while trying to resolve the issue, Minister of State (MoS) Ramdas Athawale suggested a new formula saying that Shiv Sena can have Chief Ministership for 2 years while BJP for 3 years. Athawale is the chief of Republican Party of India (A) which is in alliance with the BJP-led NDA.

Reacting to this, Raut said, “he is a Minister of State in the central government. He should focus on himself and not worry about Shiv Sena.”

Raut’s remarks come after he met Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Monday evening – hours after Pawar met Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi in Delhi.

The Shiv Sena MP said that there is a consensus across party lines that the President’s rule should end in Maharashtra.
