Former Union Minister Raosaheb Danve has been appointed as the Chairman of BJP's Assembly Election Management Committee. In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP suffered a heavy defeat in the state and especially in Marathwada. In this background, BJP has achieved the equation of Marathwada and Maratha.
BJP had formed an Election Management Committee under the chairmanship of MLA Shrikant Bharatiya in the Lok Sabha elections. Now the headship of this committee has been given to Danve. The BJP party organisation has weakened in Marathwada and the issue of Maratha reservation has also been affected.
Danve himself was defeated from Jalna constituency. Danve has been appointed with the aim of strengthening the party in Marathwada.
