Serving as the Minister of State (MoS) for Social Justice in Narendra Modi-led government, Ramdas Athawale in a shocking remark said that he is with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) only because it is in power and could switch sides if the power shifts.

Ahead of the upcoming elections, while addressing a gathering on Friday, Republic Party of India (RPI) chief Ramdas Athawale said that he will remain with BJP until he figures out which way the wind was blowing.

I was with Congress for 10 to 15 years and now will remain with BJP for five to 20 years. I will decide to switch sides once I figure out the shift in power dynamics in future,” said Athawale responding to Congress leader Naseem Khan’s offer to join Congress.
