Mumbai - Shiv Sena’s corporator Kishori Pednekar has alleged that State Election Commission has purposely dropped the names of 11 lakh voters.

Kishori alleged that11 lakh voters could not cast their vote due to mismanagement of SEC. “State Election Commission has failed in executing BMC 2017 election as they missed out names of not one or two but 11 lakh voters. People are wondering that if their names were dropped purposely. We have registered our complaint with SEC and our MLA and MP will follow up the issue till the justice is done,” said Kishori Pednekar.

When Mumbai Live spoke to SEC commissioner J S Saharia, he said that he did not receive any complaint. “We have not received any complaint and I don’t understand from where these numbers are coming from. Election Commission of India gave us the list on 5 January 2017 in which there were names of 52 lakh voters. And as you know BMC recorded 55.27% voting which is the highest. If that would have been the case, highest voting turnout would not have been possible,” said J S Saharia.
