Mumbai - The Shiv Sena, determined that its saffron flag will rule the Mumbai skies, has rolled out a slew of promises to woo the Mumbaikar. 
'We deliver' is the essence of the Shiv Sena manifesto released at the Sena Bhavan on Monday afternoon, on the occasion of Sena supremo Bal Thackeray's birth anniversary.
Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray clarified that the manifesto which has been released even before a possible alliance with the BJP has been forged, will integrate any positive elements the BJP might come up with, in case the alliance comes through. Those decisions will be taken after the chief minister takes a call on the current alliance stalemate.

Highlights of the Sena manifesto -

  • Relief on property tax for houses measuring up to 500 sq ft
  • Subsidy on property tax for houses measuring up to 700 sq ft
  • E-libraries for youth
  • Skill training and vocational education to be prioritised
  • Priority to students from civic schools for jobs in the BMC
  • Memorial to be set to commemorate freedom fighters
  • Mumbai to be developed as a tourism hub
  • New parks, recreation centres for senior citizens
  • More playgrounds for outdoor sports
  • Balasaheb Thackeray Health insurance cover scheme for Mumbaikars
  • Medical college to be started  at Govandi's Shatabdi Hospital

  • Sanitary napkin vending machines to be set up in women's sections of public toilets
  • Solid waste management project to be started at Deonar dumping ground
