Sharad Pawar turns 80: Job Fairs, Blood Donation camps and virtual rallies across the state

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is all set to turn 80 on December 12. Ahead of this day, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has launched a new scheme known as the “Sharad Pawar Gram Samrudhi Yojana” with the aim to improve rural development. This move was decided upon by the Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA coalition government to honour the veteran politician.

Apart from this, NCP has also planned 400-500 virtual rallies on that day. As per party estimates, about three lakh people across the state. In addition to this, there will be job fair and blood donation camps also organised on this day by the party members.

There is a shortage of blood in the state. In Mumbai, this shortage is always experiences during this time of the year. However, due to the pandemic, people are apprehensive about donating blood. Keeping this in mind, NCP has decided to hold donation camps from December 13-20.

On December 10, MP Supriya Sule who is also daughter of Sharad Pawar donated blood. She was accompanied by Health Minister Tope in this noble act. Both of them had visited blood donation camp organized at the Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan by the State Blood Transfusion Council.

At this occasion, Maharashtra State Health Minister, Rajesh Tope, announced that patients admitted at the government hospitals across the state will now be eligible to get free blood for their treatment. This new decision will be implemented from Saturday, December 12, 2020.
