The medical board of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) recently ruled out the murder of Bollywood Actor Sushant Singh Rajput. This comes amid the #JusticeForSSR campaign being run on various news channels for months now.

The report in connection with the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput was brought out by the AIIMS Forensic Medical Board. The report termed the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput as a case of hanging and death by suicide while ruling out the murder angle. As this happened, the Mumbai Police and Maharashtra government feel vindictive.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh said that the investigation which was being carried out by the police stands vindicated with the AIIMS report ruling out the murder of SSR. Singh further informed that this was the finding of Cooper Hospital team as well.

“We are not at all surprised by this (AIIMS report). It was the finding of the team of Cooper Hospital as well,” Singh said while adding that some people with vested interest targeted Mumbai Police without knowing anything about the investigation.

The Mumbai Police Commissioner challenged those who made statements regarding the SSR death case on news channels to reveal the information they posses.

“All those who criticised our investigation without any information, going to different channels and making comments, I challenge them to reveal what they know as prove was entirely confidential. It was all about vested interests and motivated campaign,” Singh alleged.

Congress attacks Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

After the AIIMS medical board ruled out the murder in SSR death case, Congress asked Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh to order the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to take action against those spreading “fake news” regarding SSR death.

Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant accused the BJP and it's IT cell along with some channels of running a propaganda and peddling fake news that Sushant Singh Rajput was murdered.

He said that the AIIMS report makes it clear that Mumbai Police was honest in its investigation and it was conspiracy of the Narendra Modi government to defame Maharashtra.

Congress has demanded the formation of an SIT to catch the conspirators and the masterminds behind it.

Shiv Sena seeks apology

Shiv Sena on Monday said that those who defamed Mumbai Police in connection with the SSR death case should issue an apology. He said that the politicians and news channels which questioned Mumbai Police should apologise to Maharashtra.

In his column published in ‘Saamana’, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that the theories around the actor’s death were a conspiracy to malign Maharashtra’s image. He further added that the Uddhav Thackeray government and Mumbai Police tried to uncover the truth in the SSR death case.

“The politicians and media channels who bark like dogs should apologise to Maharashtra government and Mumbai Police. Truth can never be hidden and it has finally come out in Sushant’s case,” Raut said.

Raut also said that Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra should also file a defamation case against those involved in the conspiracy to malign the state and its police.
