In a huge clash, Shiv Sena corporators on Tuesday damaged the office of Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) Mayor Dimple Mehta and its standing committee chairman. The clash happened between Shiv Sena corporators and their allies from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The agitation and vandalism was followed after Mayor Mehta refused to include the proposed Bal Thackeray cultural auditorium in the standing committee meeting agenda.

Shiv Sena corporators got angry after their demands for an art gallery for party founder Bal Thackeray were not discussed. This happened during the ongoing seat-sharing discussion between both the saffron parties – BJP and Shiv Sena – ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.

The video footage of the incident of vandalism and outrage became a viral sensation on social media. In the video, Sena corporators can be seen damaging the furniture in the offices.

Later, while condemning the incident, Mayor Dimple Mehta said that Sena corporators damaged her office and the standing committee meeting hall and abused them.
