While the ongoing discussion between Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding seat-sharing ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, the news reports suggest that Shiv Sena may cut the ticket of its five to 10 sitting MLAs.  

Shiv Sena is likely to field the senior leaders who have migrated from opposition parties including Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). However, there has been no official announcement regarding the same. Moreover, the decision on seat distribution is also pending.

After 2019 Lok Sabha elections, several top leaders from Congress and NCP joined BJP and Shiv Sena. With several inductions, BJP and Shiv Sena are bound to cut the ticket of their sitting MLAs in order to field those who have recently joined the party. The MLAs who have performed poorly will be the first one lose their tickets.
