Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, has extended his support to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar after Enforcement Directorate (ED) named him in a criminal case in connection with the alleged multi-crore Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) embezzlement case.
Raut said that people will raise doubts if Pawar is booked in a case which doesn’t mention him. Raut further said that the ED should have discussed Pawar’s connection in the MSCB scam case with the state government.
The whole of Maharashtra is aware that Sharad Pawar doesn’t hold any position in the bank for which ED has filed a criminal case regarding an alleged scam. Not only this but the complainant in this matter has never named Pawar. Social activist Anna Hazare has also given clean chit to Sharad Pawar. Therefore, doubts are being raised,” Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said.
Raut further said that despite differences in political ideologies, nobody has taken advantage of the investigation agencies. Pawar is one of the tallest and significant leaders in Maharashtra.

ED filed a criminal case naming Sharad Pawar and his nephew Ajit Pawar along with 70 others in the MSCB scam case.
