After a lot of agitation by Shiv Sena against the Maharashtra government over setting up Nanar Oil Refinery, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has not cancelled the notification of land acquisition for the same until now.

To avoid a similar agitation which happened in Tamil Nadu’s Tuticorin, the Shiv Sena has demanded CM Fadnavis to abolish the notification immediately. Shiv Sena has written a letter to the CM regarding this.

Shiv Sena’s senior leaders including Industries Minister Subhash Desai, Transport Minister Diwakar Rao, and Environment Minister Ramdas Kadam wrote the letter to the CM regarding this issue. Many people and opposition are against setting up an oil refinery in Nanar. However, CM earlier said that the decision regarding this will be taken keeping in mind the views of the people.

In the letter, CM has been reminded of his statement and assurance gave to the people over this issue and about the people’s agitation too.

In Tamil Nadu’s Tuticorin, 11 protestors were shot dead in the police firing for protesting against the Starlight Copper Industry. After this, the Tamil Nadu CM decided to close the project. Shiv Sena said that to avoid this happening in Maharashtra, the CM should take measures.
