Former corporator and slain Shiv Sena’s (UBT) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar’s wife Tejasvee Ghosalkar has quit as the Shiv Sena (UBT) Vibhag Pramukh from Dahishar due to the differences with party leaders, especially her father-in-law Vinod Ghosalkar, as per the report by Hindustan Times.

Shortly after she announced her decision on Monday evening, Uddhav Thackeray invited her to his residence, Matoshree. However, she did not meet Thackeray on Tuesday citing ill health. There are speculations going around that she might join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

In 2022, Abhishek Ghosalkar was murdered by his political rival Mauris Noronha during a Facebook Live session. From 2017 to 2022, Tejasvee herself was a Shiv Sena corporator while her father-in-law and former MLA Vinod Ghosalkar was a loyalist of party chief Uddhav Thackeray. When the Sena split in 2022, she decided to stay with the Thackeray faction.

In November 2024, the differences between Tejasvee and her father-in-law surfaced during the assembly polls as both wanted to contest from Dahisar. Vinod Ghosalkar eventually contested the seat after Thackeray urged reconciliation, but he was defeated by the BJP’s Manisha Chaudhary.
