In a recent turnover of events, it is highly possible that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and party president Ashish Shelar may likely get involved in a property dispute. The 31st-floor property in Omkar Tower, Worli, registered on his wife, Pratima Shelar’s name, is said to be worth INR 9 crores, is said to be kept under the wraps. Social activist Ketan Tirodkar has tried to highlight the issue of controversy by the poster on Facebook through the spark of this issue.
Tirodakar in his post has questioned by asking how Ashish Shelar, who has been merely an MLA, acquire so much wealth possible enough to buy a flat worth 9 crores?
Ashish Shelar, who won from Bandra West constituency in the 2014 assembly elections, has given the information regarding real and movable assets named in the affidavit filed before the election as per rules. According to this affidavit, Ashish Shelar and his wife have movable assets worth Rs 1.44 crore and movable assets worth Rs 3.16 crore. This includes the 603 / 6th floor, the Sea Wing, the Highland Court, Bandra (West) house, a flat in Powai and a farmer from Ratnagiri and Malvan.
Defending the same, Shelar said that they were waiting for the loan sanction for these flat purchases, and has expressed that he is not doing any financial trouble in this case. The flat was purchased in June 2017 and has been registered legally. Shelar also added by saying that looking at the current scenario and real estate prices, he may consider selling the flat, only for the good benefits. All the allegations about the same, imposed on him, are only a political gimmick.
According to the information provided to Mumbai Live, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and skipper Yuvraj Singh also purchased properties in the same building.
Looking at Tirodkar's past records, it is unsure if he playing the same game as before, by blaming Shelar this time, like he has blamed many before, or is it being used for a different agenda, and is merely playing a messenger.
