Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which will be held this month, mainstream media is focusing on covering the star candidates and their campaigns from major political parties. Meanwhile, Sneha Nivritti Kale, a transgender, is contesting LS polls from Mumbai North Central constituency. 

Sneha (27) filed nomination on Wednesday and became the first from their community to contest Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai. Sneha will be contesting against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Poonam Mahajan, who is the sitting MP, and Congress leader Priya Dutt. 

Sneha, who is contesting the LS polls as an Independent candidate, stated that even after the Independence, no government had paid attention to develop their community. If elected, Sneha will work towards developing the transgender community, economically weaker sections (EWCs), windows, and soldiers.

Sneha informed that almost 30,000 to 40,000 transgenders reside in the city’s North Central LS constituency and hoped that they will help Sneha in every possible way to win the Lok Sabha election.
