In the midst of the present Maharashtra political crisis, on Monday, June 27, Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray took a monumental decision by handing over the portfolios of five absent ministers and four ministers of state to others.

This has been undertaken to ensure the smooth functioning of the department, in lieu of the possibility of heavy rains and calamities.

According to reports, Eknath Shinde's Urban Development, Public Works (Public Enterprises) Department have been given to Subhash Desai. On the other hand, Water Supply and Sanitation Department which was under Gulabrao Raghunath Patil has been handed over to Anil Parab.

Additionally, Sandipanrao Bhumre has been given the Agriculture Department which was under the purview of Dadaji Bhuse. Similarly, Aaditya Thackeray is now in-charge of Higher Education And Technical Education.

While Horticulture and Employment Guarantee has been given to Shankar Yashwantrao Gadakh.

Junior Thackeray in a recent address to the party remarked that the rebel MLAs are traitors and described Eknath Shinde's faction as the "dirt" of Shiv Sena. He was quoted saying that the MLAs who have revolted were never theirs and thus now, the dirt of the party is gone. He believes that now whatever will happen will be for the good. Further, he claimed that the revolt is transpiring not because of the opposition but because their own people betrayed them
