The benchmark indices set a fresh all-time high on December 4, 2021. Nifty breaches 14,100 level, while Sensex settles above 48,100.
At close, the Sensex was up 307.82 points or 0.64 per cent at 48,176.80 and the Nifty was up 114.40 points or 0.82 per cent at 14,132.90.
About 2061 shares have advanced, 973 shares declined and 158 shares remain unchanged.
On Nifty 50 index, Tata Steel (7.76 per cent), Hindalco (6.69 per cent), Eicher Motors (4.44 per cent) and ONGC (4.02 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while Hero Motocorp (-1.90 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (-1.43 per cent), Bajaj Finance (-1.21 per cent) and Adani Ports (-0.98 per cent) were the top losers for the day.
On the sectoral front, all the indices closed in green led by Nifty Metal and Nifty IT which was 5.09 per cent and 2.67 per cent strong. Nifty Bank witnessed selling pressure and closed flat.
Author’s View: Going forward 14,000 level will become strong support for Nifty, any dip near this level can be used as a buying opportunity. On the upside 14,200 level can be used as a profit-booking zone.
