Celebrity chef Vikas Khanna is loved by everyone for his cooking skills but his recent gesture has given everyone another reason to adore him. This year, Khanna celebrated Eid with a family that had saved his life during the 1992 riots in Mumbai.

During the riots, Khanna was working as a trainee in Mumbai. When he heard the news that houses in Ghatkopar were being set ablaze, he went out to find out about his brother who lived in that area. As he was searching the area, a Muslim family took Khanna in to save him from an incoming mob.
In fact, when the mob asked the family about Khanna, the father declared Khanna to be his son. Along with this, the family also sent out a member to enquire about his brother and confirmed about his well-being.
Touched by this gesture, Khanna has been keeping a single day fast during the month of Ramzan since 1992 in honour of the family. Khanna was reconnected with the family after 26 years.
