The Pride Month was the first event for the LGBTQ+ community after Supreme Court delivered the historic decision to scrap Article 377, which decriminalised homosexuality. Throughout the country, people came forward to celebrate their love including various people from Mumbai.
The history of inhuman Article 377 dates back to the British rule in 1860 when homosexual intercourse was considered unnatural and was declared a criminal offence under Chapter 16, Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
As the years have passed, the society has grown more accepting. However, the society still has a long way to go.
