The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has been working on luxury units at its new Goregaon project, which includes 332 homes. It will be the first MHADA property to include a gym and a swimming pool.

In the 39-story building, there are 227 two-bedroom homes for the middle-class group and 105 three-bedroom homes for the high-income group. However, MHADA is struggling to provide enough parking space for residents. Despite a multi-level parking lot, there is not enough space for all residents.

An official from MHADA said that while they initially provide parking spaces, the housing society will decide the final allocation. Sources suggest that owners of the three-bedroom homes will likely get parking spaces, while only half of the two-bedroom home owners might get a spot. Reports suggest that cooperative societies often use lotteries to allocate parking on a rotational basis.

New MHADA homes are also being built in Powai, Dindoshi, Vikhroli, and Antop Hill in Wadala. These projects are part of a larger initiative that will offer more than 2,000 homes through an upcoming MHADA lottery.

The lottery might be drawn next month, in September. It will mostly offer homes for the lower-income group, middle-income group, and economically weaker section. There will be fewer homes available for the high-income group.

Homebuyers can get updates on the MHADA lottery 2024 website, and the application process is fully online. MHADA has also made a mobile app for interested applicants. The price of an economically weaker section home starts at around INR 30 lakh, while a three-bedroom home can cost over INR 1 crore.
