Rising petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai are now slashing the pockets of the common man. The increase in monthly financial costs is not offset by continue hike in fuel prices.

Meanwhile, fuel prices have reached new highs in many cities, including Delhi and Mumbai. It has come to light that petrol now costs 33 per cent more than the price at which aviation turbine fuel (ATF) is sold to airlines.

However, after a hike in petrol, diesel prices for four consecutive days in last week, it remained unchanged on Monday, October 18.

As per last hike on Sunday, October 17, a litre of petrol costs INR 111.77 and diesel is being retailed at INR 102.52 per litre in Mumbai.

In the national capital, petrol and diesel rates stood at INR 105.84 and INR 94.57 per litre respectively. Whereas, petrol prices in Chennai are just above the INR 103 per litre mark.

The most expensive fuel in the country is found in the border town of Ganganagar in Rajasthan, where petrol is priced at INR 117.86 per litre and diesel at INR 105.95 per litre.
