Lucky was beaten up by the security guard of Worli's Turf View building. The dog was being treated at Crown Vet Hospital and passed away on Wednesday morning due to internal injuries.

Lucky, Worli-based stray dog, which was beaten up by a security guard of a residential complex, dies, after battling injuries. Lucky was being treated at the Crown Vet Hospital but passed away on Wednesday morning. 

The city of Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall over the last few months, and on July 24, 2019, Lucky took shelter in Worli's Turf View Building. But the security guard of the residential complex mercilessly hit the dog, which led to internal injuries and paralysis. An FIR was lodged regarding this incident at Worli Police Station.

Talking about the same, Meet Ashar, Honorary Advisor to the Maharashtra State Animal Welfare Board, said, "It is very sad that Lucky could not survive the attack. We all must seek better animal rights laws to prevent such atrocities. May Lucky's soul eternally rest in peace."

Several personalities like Sonam Kapoor, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandes, Shobaa De among others took to social media to raise their voice against the cruelty. In a recently held event, many Mumbaikars, activists along with the celebrities protested opposite the building in Worli, to create awareness for inhumane cases.
