There is a possibility that the scheduled date of the most loved and awaited India Pakistan World Cup might change. Team India will face arch rivals Pakistan on October 15. The schedule was also announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, this date can change drastically.

According to a report by Indian Express, the date of the India vs Pakistan match may be changed. Because 15 October is the first day of 'Navratri', where it is celebrated in Gujarat and other parts of the country with vigour.

The report said that agencies have advised the BCCI to reschedule the game due to security concerns. “We are considering the options we have and a decision will be taken soon. We have been told by security agencies that a high-profile game like India vs Pakistan, for which thousands of travelling fans are expected to reach Ahmedabad, will increase the pressure on the police,” a source told The Indian Express.

Many fans have already booked match tickets, flight tickets, hotel bookings for the India-Pakistan match. If the date changes, fans may face many problems. Thus, hotel bookings are likely to be cancelled in large numbers in case of rescheduling. Interestingly, with the tournament more than two months away, there is no update on ticket sales, which has added to fans' frustration.

The Indian Express report also said that BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has asked the members of all the hosting venues to gather for a meeting in New Delhi on July 27 (Thursday), where a decision can be taken on the India-Pakistan match.

The four group matches of the World Cup will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad with the final of the tournament on November 19.
