In a first of its kind for India, the National Basketball Association has brought a floating basketball court to Mumbai. The basketball court was installed in the Arabian Sea near the Bandra-Worli Sealink on October 2, Wednesday.

After the court was inaugurated, various basketball enthusiasts along with NBA legend Jason Williams were seen trying to shoot the ball on the floating court. Speaking at the event, Williams also interacted with aspiring Indian youngsters and gave them tips saying they need to work hard as kids from all over the world are getting better at the game.

The National Basketball Association legend, Jason Williams speaking to ANI said,

You just got to work hard, and you have to dedicate all your time to it. Kids from all over the world are getting better at basketball every day and India is maybe a couple of steps behind everyone else but it does not mean they cannot catch up”.

In the meantime, the NBA India Games 2019 is all set to begin with an encounter between the Kings and Pacers in Worli at NSCI Dome on October 4 and 5. This will mark the inception of the first games that teams from a North American sports league will be playing in India.
