Mumbai boys shine in Dubai Rapid chess meet

Mumbai boys Yohan Dotiwala and Aryaveer Pittie of American school of Bombay (ASB) Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) won Rapid chess titles in the Dubai Chess Meet that was held at World Trade Center by outplay chess in Dubai on Saturday, October 29.

Mumbai boys Yohan Dotiwala and Aryaveer Pittie of American school of Bombay (ASB) Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) won Rapid chess titles in the Dubai Chess Meet that was held at World Trade Center by outplay chess in Dubai on Saturday, October 29.

Around 70 participants across seven different countries were in the fray for the top honors in this chess meet including ten International FIDE rated Chess players.Yohan and Aryaveer Pittie both finished with a tally of 2.5 points out of five games to lift the titles in their respective categories i.e. Under-15 and Under-8.

Yohan is a dedicated player with good work ethics who trains daily 3-4 hours under his coach Durga Nagesh Guttula of SMCA despite being in the ninth grade however he balances well with his academics. 

While eight-year-old Aryaveer pittie is a  passionate chess player and he is a very aggressive player on the board, currently aryaveer is preparing for the Singapore Under-8 chess championship which is scheduled to be held later this year.

Fellow Indians Myrah Sethi and Kridday Mayank Jain of Delhi also won runner-up trophies in the same meet.
