From Local Champion to Global Contender

Born in Saigaon Bagli, Chalisgaon, Jalgaon district, Vijay Chauddhary's wrestling journey has been nothing short of remarkable. He secured three consecutive victories in the 'Maharashtra Kesari' tournament in 2014, 2015, and 2016, cementing his status as a formidable wrestler on the local scene. Now, Chauddhary is ready to take on a much grander stage, representing India at the 'World Police and Fire Games.'

Training and Guidance

In his pursuit of excellence, Chauddhary has been receiving top-notch training under the guidance of Hind Kesari Rohit Patel. His preparation includes specialized coaching in both mud and mat wrestling techniques, essential for mastering the international wrestling arena. Chauddhary is grateful for the unwavering support from the senior officers of the Maharashtra police force, who have recognized his potential and dedication.

A Dedicated Routine

Highlighting his intense training, Indian Express reported that his preparation for an international competition is no easy feat, especially as a committed police officer. Chauddhary's day starts early at 4.30 am and he engages in rigorous training from 5 am to 8 am at the Mamasaheb Mohol Kusti Sankul in Katraj. After fulfilling his professional duties, he further trains from 3.30 pm to 6 pm, showcasing the dedication and discipline that defines him both as an athlete and an officer.

Balanced Diet for Optimum Performance

Chauddhary understands the importance of a well-balanced diet for peak performance. His daily nutrition includes a plethora of protein, vitamins, and carbohydrates, essential for sustaining intense physical training. The wrestler's diet consists of two liters of milk, one liter of badam (almond) thandai, soybean, spinach, salad, and apples. On non-vegetarian days, he incorporates boiled eggs, chicken, and mutton into his meals.

Overcoming Adversity

Chauddhary's journey to success has not been without its share of challenges. Wrestling in his village, Jalgaon, where only mud surfaces were available, he faced the hurdle of transitioning to mat wrestling. However, his passion and determination drove him to overcome these obstacles, ultimately becoming an inspiration for aspiring wrestlers across the nation.

Aiming High at the International Stage
