Mumbai Strikers combined well and romped to a comfortable 4-0 win against GM Sports Club in a Super Division match of the MDFA League 20-16-2017 played at the Goan’s SA ground, Cross Maidan on Friday. Strikers Akshay Devadiga, Arsalan Hamdulay, Revel Kunder and Abhijit Shetty all scored a goal each to round off the winning tally.
Meanwhile, Reserve Bank of India powered by the twin strikes from Altaf Mansoori recorded an identical 4-0 win against Sping\field FC in another Super Division match, played at the Andheri Sports Complex. Harold;d Fernandes and Abhishek Ambekar scored the other two goals for the bankers.
In the MDFA women’s league, Neha Ture notched up a fine hat-trick which helped Football Leaders Academy storm to a thumping 6-0 win against Mumbai Warriors. This match was played at the Karnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan on Friday. Ture’s teammates, Sara Khan, Nikita Rathod and Jyotika Singh chipped in with a goal each to seal the win.
In another match, defending champions, Bodyline FC outplayed Football Club of Mumbaikar 6-1. Tricia Collaco netted a brace of goals while Kimberly Fernandez, Ritacasica Ukachukwu, Karen Pais and Atiriva Narayan got one each for the winners, while Anshita Pant got the consolation goal for the losing side.
