Mumbai-Riding on a massive unbeaten partnership of 316 between Wridhiman Saha and Cheteshwar Pujara, Rest of India made quick work of the target on the final day of the Irani trophy at the Wankhede Stadium today. Rest of India clinched the Irani trophy by 6 wickets.
Saha made an artistic and well made 203 and Puajara was unbeaten on 116. It's the 15th time in the last 19 times that Rest of India have won the Irani trophy.
The day began with Rest of India needing 113 to win the match, Gujarat bowlers could not break the solid partnership and the writing was on the wall.
Both Pujara and Saha needed just 19.1 overs to finish the game and clinch the trophy.
Wridhiman Saha was named "Man of the Match" for his match winning double ton.
