Today is Master Blaster’s birthday. God of Cricket has turned 44. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on 24 April 1973. During his remarkable journey of 24-year, he scored 34,357 runs in International cricket. Sachin Tendulkar was the first batsman to score 200* in One Day International. There are many records onto his name, but one record which denounces him as ‘God of Cricket’ is 100 International centuries.

In ODIs, he has scored 49 centuries whereas in Test cricket Little Master has 51 centuries. Tendulkar made his test debut in 1989 against Pakistan in Lahore. He has carried expectations of billions of cricket fans all across the world till his last match. Sachin played his last test match against West Indies in Mumbai.

He made a record six world cup appearances eventually ending up on winning side in his final world cup, in 2011 at Wankhede stadium where India defeated Sri Lanka to lift the world cup trophy. Tendulkar has received Bharat Ratna award after his retirement in the year 2013.

God of cricket even tried his hands at singing, with none other than melodious Sonu Nigam. The song is titled ‘Cricket waali beat’.
