Inter-School Hockey Tournament: Children’s Academy School and St. Elias High School emerge victorious

On August 29, India celebrated National Sports Day on the birth anniversary of ‘Hockey Wizard’ Major Dhyan Chand. On the occasion, Khar’s St. Elias High School and Malad’s Children’s Academy School emerged winners in the girls’ and boys’ categories respectively of the Major Dhyan Chand Inter-School Tournament. 

In the boys’ category, Children’s Academy School won against Guru Nanak High School by a 1-0 marin and claimed the victory. The team was aggressive from the beginning and kept creating opportunities to score goals which eventually led to a goal on the 18th minute. The maiden and the only goal was scored by Vansh Shah.

After which, Guru Nanak High School tried to score an equalizer but were unable to level the scorecard due to the opposition’s solid defence.

On the other hand, the girls’ hockey team from Khar easily outplayed the St. Teresa High School by a 4-0 victory. Madhvi Mhatre netted the first goal and the last goal for St. Elias school along with individual goals from Harshada Dhanivale and Aradhana Jadhav.
