The CCI-GMBA Badminton championship lit up on Thursday with thrilling matches. Boys’ U-17 top seed, Tyronne Pereira, won a close match against Vikrant Ninavne with a score of 21-19, 22-24, 21-19. This game was very closely contested but Pereira came out victorious eventually.
In the U-15 segment, Cricket Club of India (CCI) player, Aaryvardhan Jadhav stunned top seed Darius Pardiwala 21-8,21-10 to reach the final.
Another CCI player, Hrissha Dubey, defeated second seed Pooja Kachare with a score of 21-16, 21-8 to enter the girls U-17 final.
Jadhav trains under former international player, Hufrish Nariman, who was a part of the Indian women’s team in the 1982 Asian Games held in New Delhi.
Eight-year-old Essa Motorwala showed character when he won a pulsating 21-12, 19-21, 22-20 against Angad Tathgir to enter the boys' under-10 championship round.
