Union Bank of India romped to a facile 4-0 win against PIFA Colaba FC in an Elite Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association League 2016-2017 and played Cooperage ground on Monday morning. Leading Union Bank’s charge to victory was striker Titus Uttankar who scored a brace of goals while Vinod Pandey and Valentine Pereira netted one each to complete the scoring.

The Union Bank outfit coordinated nicely to make inroads towards the rival goal and enjoyed the better of the exchanges. After a flurry of attempts Union Bank finally found success with Uttankar scoring in the 35th minute to take his team into the break with a 1-0 lead. In contrast the Colaba side looked out of sorts and was unable to raise their level of their game and hardly put much pressure on the rival defence.

Ten minutes into the second half, Union Bank doubled the lead with Pandey hitting the target before Uttankar scored his second and the team’s this goal in the 65th minute. In the 85th minute, Pereira slotted home the fourth goal to round off the winning tally.

Meanwhile, Tarun Sporting Club and Charoter Rukhi Samaj were involved in a 1-1 draw. Tarun Sporting scored through Tabish Mulla and Abhishek Waghela scored for the Samaj side.
