Apple Event 2019: Apple Watch Series 5, iPad and Apple TV+ and everything else announced

At Apple’s Special Event, Apple not just unveiled the new iPhones but it also announced Apple TV+ service, Apple Watch Series 5 and the seventh generation iPad.

First of about Apple TV+. Apple TV+ will be available starting November 1 to all customer including the ones in India. The price of Apple TV+ service is $4.99 per month, which comes to just Rs 99. Apple TV+ will be available via the Apple TV app and will also offer a seven-day free trial starting, post which the subscription will automatically start.

Apple had first given a glimpse of this service at WWDC and it was expected to be priced between $7 to $10 but at almost $5 it is priced very competitively.  

Apple TV+ comes with a powerful lineup of original shows, movies and documentaries, including “The Morning Show,” “Dickinson,” “See,” “For All Mankind” and “The Elephant Queen.” Customers who purchase any iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch or Mac can enjoy one year of Apple TV+ for free. Through Family Sharing, up to six family members can share one Apple TV+ subscription.

Apple Watch Series 5

The most notable addition to Apple Watch Series 5, from the previous generation is the Always-On Retina display that never sleeps. What this does is, makes it easy to see the time and other important information, without raising or tapping the display. The watch now also comes with built-in compass. Another addition a security feature that allows customers to call emergency services directly from Apple Watch in over 150 countries, even without iPhone nearby.

Apple Watch Series 5 is available in a wider range of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, ceramic and an all-new titanium and runs on watchOS 6.

The GPS only model is available to order in 41 countries from today, while GPS + Cellular version  is available to order in just 22 countries for now from today. However, both models will be available in stores beginning Friday, September 20. The prices of Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS) starts at $399 and Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) starts at $499. The popular Series 3 (GPS), with built-in GPS, optical heart rate sensor and water resistance, starts at a new low price of $199 and Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) is $299.

Apple Watch Nike is available to order today from apple.com and in the Apple Store app, with availability beginning Friday, October 4 in the US, Puerto Rico and more than 51 other countries and regions. Apple Watch Hermès is available to order today from apple.com and in the Apple Store app, with availability beginning Friday, September 20 in the US and more than 14 other countries and regions. New Apple Watch bands are available to order today from apple.com and in the Apple Store app, with availability beginning Friday, September 20. The watchOS 6 will be available for Apple Watch Series 3 and later on September 19 and for Apple Watch Series 1 and 2 later this year.


Apple Seventh-generation iPad

Starting at $329, the upgraded iPad features a 10.2-inch Retina display and comes with Apple Pencil2 support. It is powered by A10 Fusion chip, which according to Apple's claims offers up to two times faster performance over the top-selling Windows PC . The seventh-generation iPad is available to order starting today and in stores starting Monday, September 30.
