Apple, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, introduced iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, the next generation of smartphone, featuring a design with sleek flat edges in five  new colors. Both the models feature innovations, including the most advanced dual-camera system with a new wide camera and features that offer improvements in low-light photos and videos adding a new dimension to video storytelling.

The launch event was streamed LIVE on Apple's official YouTube channel.

Below mentioned are the features in the all-new iPhone

iOS 15

Apple's new iOS 15 technology promises an enhanced experience that improves phone's connectivity and features. The FaceTime on the phones have been redesigned to feel more natural with improved audio and now also come with a new Portrait mode, focus, notifications and live text options allowing users to take more actions. Even the maps now come with a 3D city-driving experience along with offering walking directions in AR. Weather has been redesigned with full-screen maps, wallet has been added with more keys, new privacy controls have been offered in Siri, Mail, and additional features.

Battery - Super-fast performance and power efficiency with A15 Bionic with longer life

One of the most important features of both iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini is the improvement in battery life which has enhanced efficient components, a larger battery, and power optimizations from a deep integration of hardware and software. While iPhone 13 would offer up to 2.5 hour additional battery life per day, iPhone 13 mini will be able to provide up to 1.5 hours more in a day, both in comparison to iPhone 12 and 12 mini.

Display - Brighter Super Retina XDR display, durability with the ceramic shield front cover and industry-leading IP68 rating for water resistance

Both iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini offer a flat-edge design with aluminum frame. The displays - 6.1 inch and 5.4 inch - feature Ceramic Shield on the front which is exclusive to the iPhone and boasted to be tougher than any smartphone glass. The improved Super Retina XDR OLED displays have been designed to deliver an incredible contrast ratio for true blacks and a 28 percent increase in max outdoor brightness at 800 nits, with higher peak brightness for HDR content like photos and videos at 1200 nits, all while being more power efficient. Moreover, the screens have the IP68 rating for water resistance which protects the phone from common liquids.

Camera

The rear camera layout has been redesigned  with diagonally arranged lenses that enables the advanced dual-camera system, while the TrueDepth camera system has been redesigned to be smaller yet effective with same breakthrough technologies. This enables the phone to have Face ID and offer more display area.

Advanced 5G experience

With the world heading fast towards 5G, iPhone lovers will be offered an advanced experience focused towards improved connectivity facilitated using customized hardware design featuring more 5G bands. The makers believe this would allow the phones to offer greater coverage and performance by offering improved experience, high-quality video streaming, competitive gameplay, faster download and upload speeds, and more. With iOS 15 and additional features, users can enjoy watching HDR movies or TV shows on FaceTime too, also by conserving batter life while being on Smart Data mode shifting to a different bandwidth when not needed.

The phones are available in pink, blue, midnight, starlight, and red. While the pre-orders have been announced in the US, prices for India haven't been announced yet.
