Air India is all set to begin the Mumbai-Dehradun-Varanasi flight service, from September 28. The devotees who intend to go to pilgrimages such as Rishikesh and Haridwar, will find easier to travel. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat thanked Air India for starting the service.

CM Trivendra Singh stated that with the inception of the flight service, people travelling to Rishikesh and Haridwar will be able to reach Kashi easily.
According to the reports, the service will be primarily run on Wednesdays and Saturdays but later, the timetable will be changed if found necessary.

The air service has been initiated under the Prime Minister's UDAAN project which aims at strengthening the country's air network. Earlier, Rawat had met with various politicians to ensure that the air service between Mumbai, Varanasi, and Dehradun begins.
