Amid the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) workers strike, Maharashtra government has allowed private buses and vehicles to ferry the commuters. The commuters can utilise the medium to travel and can pay the fare to the private buses and vehicles.

The BEST employees are on a strike from January 7, Monday midnight. More than 3,300 buses are off the road and the 25 lakh commuters are facing problems in the city.

BEST Workers Union Secretary Shashank Rao informed that the strike is ongoing and the administration has not responded to their demands. The Home department on Wednesday issued a circular stating that in order to provide ease to the commuters in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) all private buses, school buses have been allowed to ferry the people.
