The BEST has trailed into the tourism bus service avenue and will offer two open-deck buses that will provide their services to tourists in south Mumbai, highlighted reports.
Based on accounts, officials elucidated that these buses will function from November 3. Manoj Varade, the BEST spokesperson elaborated that, tourists can revel in a journey in the open-deck buses. He added that the tickets will cost INR 150 for the upper and INR 75 for the lower deck.
The said tourist buses will go through heritage buildings, monuments, as well as, places that interest tourists in south Mumbai. The ride will begin from the Gateway of India.
Lokesh Chandra the BEST General Manager elucidated that to guide the tourists, it has set up helplines for the bus service with the toll-free number, 1800227550.
In other developments, electric BEST buses will now be on 100 per cent green energy. Since the officials from the BEST have transcended from coal-based thermal energy to solar to charge their fleet of 386 buses.
Moreover, the BEST has also commenced new e-AC buses services from Mumbai Airport to Thane. This comes amidst the two dedicated bus routes from the airport to south Mumbai and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) were also initiated.
