BEST is undergoing financial loss and BMC is not considering the fact. The leader of opposition in BMC Ravi Raja said in the standing committee that the BMC is implementing an unfair law of savings on BEST. It is better that BMC gives one thousand crores grant to BEST.
Ravi Raja said that BEST is unable to pay salary to the employees due to lack of money. He demanded one thousand crore rupees grant for the best. Ravi Raja lambasted BMC for implementing rules which are baseless which includes, raising the ticket price, reducing the wages. This demand of Ravi Raja got the support of Prabhakar Shinde of BJP.

On this issue, Manoj Kotak questioned that the Corporation holds its deposits in the banks. If the bank gives them 5-6% interest, then they can take 10% interest from the other. Ashish Chemburkar talked about providing financial assistance to BEST and said that it is unfair to put any condition of any savings on it.

In view of the demand of all the members, standing committee chairman Ramesh Korgaonkar has considered the fact of providing the grant to BEST. After this, the proposal will be sent to the chairman and then will be forwarded to civic administration.
